Jessi Schmit
I am an illustrator and graphic designer based in Fargo, ND
With my illustration work, my main focuses are in portraiture or landscapes (interior and exterior.) I like to capture moments like a photographer, either by drawing from life or remembering a place or a person to the best of my ability.
I am drawn towards drawing spaces and people because to me, they make life worth living. A great space makes you feel at home, a good atmosphere makes you feel calm and secure. People bring you joy, and confusion, and love, and heartache. We all are made up of so many complexities and each person is unique. I like finding and showcasing what makes the subject, them.
My main focuses in design work are logos and poster design. I love print design and the tangibility of creating something that people will hold, wear, or hang on their wall. I am inspired by vintage poster design, punk zine layout styles, and use vector work heavily in my designing.
